What you can do
United Way of Utah County knows that it takes the whole community to have a lasting impact in building financially self-sufficient families (preparing children to succeed in school and beyond, creating a cohesive community). So we bring together people from all across the community—people from government, business, faith groups, non profits and ordinary citizens. If it requires fundraising or just getting people to work together on something, that’s what we do.
So what can you do? Here are a few ideas
Be a Utah Saver. Join the growing network of Utahns who are increasing their financial stability by signing up to be a Utah Saver, and encourage your friends and family to do the same. As we all increase our individual financial stability, our community will become stronger.
Donate! You decide how your donation is used and we’ll keep you updated on the results that are achieved with your contribution. Your contribution can even be specifically used for building financially self-sufficient families or one of our other two focus areas. It’s up to you!
Volunteer! Sometimes giving of your time is the best way to help. We have a database of more than 300 volunteer opportunities and can help you find something specifically suited to you. You can even choose an opportunity specifically designed to help building financially self-sufficient families. If you would like some help selecting a volunteer opportunity, contact one of our specialists by dialing 211.
Give a gift-in-kind. Do you have something that you no longer need that may help a local non profit organization have a greater impact on the community? It may be office equipment, landscaping machinery or professional services.Visit our online gift-in-kind exchange site and post information about the item you want to donate. Local non profit organizations can browse through the listings and contact you if they’re interested in you donation. |
