United Way Funding

United Way of Utah County's funding process focuses on the outcomes being achieved in our community by programs in United Way's three focus areas--Income, Education and Health. The emphasis on program outcomes is designed to increase the impact of donors' money and the efficiency of United Way and its community partners in advancing the common good in Utah County.

The process includes two phases. The first is the Evaluation Process, which includes a review of organization information and financials along with an assessment and tour of the organization. The review and tour are conducted by Evaluation Panels made up of local community volunteers.

Organizations that pass the Evaluation Process will be able to apply for program funding, be considered a United Way of Utah County community partner and be included in designation listings. Program funding will be awarded based on a program's relevance in United Way's three focus areas along with its ability to show measurable results through outcomes and fiscal responsibility. The review of program applications will be conducted by Impact Panels, which are also made up of local community volunteers.
