Volunteer Requirements
Do you want to make a difference by giving children in Utah County
a healthy start?
Become a Welcome Baby volunteer home visitor and enjoy the fulfillment
of strengthening families in your community. Have fun interacting with
infants, mentoring parents, and giving back to the community by sharing
insights from your personal experiences. By volunteering five flexible
hours each month, you can make a difference in the lives of families
in Utah County!
Volunteers will:
- Give individualized support to new parents through monthly home
visits
- Share information about health, infant development and community
resources
- Use the educational resources of the program to answer questions
and concerns
Requirements:
- Have experience with children and knowledge of child development.
- Commit to at least one year.
- Commit to five hours a month. This includes visiting three families
and attending a monthly in-service to receive additional training
and instruction.
- Schedule an interview with the Volunteer Coordinator. Call 374-8108.
- Fill out an application.
- Pass the background check.
- Go on a home visit with a mentor.
- Attend a five hour training.
Volunteers receive training in infant development, home visitation, Shaken
Baby Syndrome, SIDS, child abuse, communication, and community resources.
