Families

Welcoming a newborn baby into your home is a very memorable experience. You are beginning the most important job ever — being a parent.

Like other first-time parents, you are probably experiencing feelings of excitement and anticipation, as well as anxiety and uncertainty. The next few years of your child's life are very critical, and parents play a vital role in promoting healthy growth and development. Unfortunately, an infant does not come with a user’s manual including directions for all that is going on inside; nor does he or she come with a list of what to do when things go wrong. Parents are left to follow their instincts, rely on previous knowledge, research the answers or ask family and friends for advice. It is definitely a learning experience, but not one that has to be learned alone — at least not if you live in Utah County.

Welcome Baby is a home visitor program committed to helping new parents face the uncertainties that come with raising a child. The Welcome Baby program can help you feel more secure and confident as you begin this new adventure by providing valuable information in the following areas:

  • A Healthy Beginning
  • Knowledgeable Parenting
  • Community Resources for Families

Welcome Baby home visitors will visit your home each month to discuss information appropriate to your child's age. They will help you find the answers to your questions and refer other resources as needed. Remember, this is a free service for those in our community. There are no obligations.

Take advantage of this opportunity to be more informed, gain support from your community, and give your child what he or she deserves — a healthy start.

To register for visits go to the forms and fill out the Family Information or contact the Welcome Baby Volunteer Coordinator at 374-8108.
