Honoring the Life of Martin Luther King Jr.
Community Outreach Day
Monday January 18th, 2010

Martin Luther King Jr

This year United Way of Utah County is partnering with BYU and UVU for their annual Community Outreach Day.  The yearly tradition started at BYU in 2000, in an effort to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. and the values of service and sacrificing for others that he taught.  While past events have focused on college volunteers, this year we are trying to branch out and involve community members, and businesses to participate.

  1. Come Register and choose a service project at the Wilkinson Center at BYU on Monday, January 18th at  8 a.m.
  2. A devotional will be held at  the Wilkinson Center at 9 a.m. Service projects will begin on campus and throughout the community.
  3. Projects will continue until 2 p.m.
  4. Join the afternoon celebrations with the Walk of Life Candlelight Processional at 5:30  p.m. at the Bell Tower on the BYU campus. A keynote speaker and musical number will follow in the Wilkinson Center Ballroom.
