Sub for Santa
United Way of Utah County Sub for Santa provides gifts for children through sponsors and is designed to foster self-sufficiency by helping applicants learn different ways to manage their time and money.
Residents of Utah County continued their holiday tradition of giving through the United Way of Utah County Sub for Santa program. More than 5,400 children were helped this year through Sub for Santa, Angel Tree and Toys for Tots.
Sub for Santa applicants attended a workshop and learned about low-cost traditions and budgeting tips. The workshops were held at the Provo City library to promote literacy, and parents were encouraged to give their children library cards as an additional Christmas gift. The number of applications increased significantly this year, but our community rose to the challenge and helped more than 1,900 families, of which 43% had never applied for help before.
Thanks to everyone who reached out this Christmas and participated in the United Way of Utah County Sub for Santa program.
Sub for Santa will re-open in November 2009. Please return to this site or call United Way in November for more information.
