How we LIVE UNITED:

• Increasing home ownership by providing down-payment assistance and mutual self-help home building to qualifying families
• Increasing financial stability by providing programs, such as financial counseling, utilities assistance and home buyer education
• Improving the job skills of Utah County residents through job skills training and adult literacy programs
• Providing healthcare to residents with little or no health insurance
• Helping residents reduce debt and build wealth through initiatives that encourage saving money and provide tax assistance

Preparing Children to Succeed in School and Beyond

Challenges we face in Utah County:

• Highest birthrate in the nation
• Many children are living in poverty without their basic needs being met
• Many children are not at grade reading level

How we LIVE UNITED:

• Providing information to parents and caregivers on child development and early education
• Supporting early intervention programs for children with disabilities or delays
• Supplying basic necessities to elementary school children to ensure that basic needs will not stand in the way of success in school
• Raising the reading levels of young children through book distribution.

Creating a Cohesive Community

• Building on the assets of our community and providing opportunities for all residents to contribute to the community
• Promoting a trusted space for immigrants to find resources and learn about the community
• Working with Hispanic Outreach Coordinators to provide access to community resources for all residents
• Promoting independence for individuals with disabilities
• aintaining United Way 211—a hotline that provides access to information about giving or getting help.
